    Over Seven Million Passengers at Václav Havel Airport Prague in First Half of 2024

    Václav Havel Airport in Prague recorded a significant increase of over seven million passengers in the first half of the year, driven by new flight connections and popular destinations.

    Václav Havel Airport Prague handled more than seven million passengers in the first six months of this year, representing an increase of almost a quarter compared to the same period last year. Passenger traffic reached 92 percent of the record level of 2019. The most popular destinations were the UK, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany.

    One in eight passengers traveled either to or from the UK. London was the top destination, followed by Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, and Rome. Many passengers also used the airport as a transfer point.

    Between January and June, 13 new direct connections to 13 new destinations were launched. In addition to the resumption of the long-haul connection to Beijing, new connections were added to Astana in Kazakhstan, Brindisi, Florence, and Verona in Italy, Izmir in Turkey, Chisinau in Moldova, La Palma in the Canary Islands, Ponta Delgada in the Azores, Poznań in Poland, Tallinn in Estonia, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, and Tbilisi in Georgia.

    This summer, Prague Airport is offering direct flights to around 170 destinations worldwide. On the Prague Airport website, passengers can find a detailed overview of available connections, including a list of airlines offering flights to specific destinations. From the overview, interested parties can access the airline’s website via a link to obtain up-to-date information on flight schedules and book tickets. Selected destinations are also provided with interesting local information for travelers.

    Throughout the summer season, passengers are advised to check the current travel conditions for their final destination before traveling. Passengers should also arrive at the airport at least two hours before the scheduled departure of their flight and proceed to security or passport control immediately after checking in.
