Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience, which brings the history of the famous Pilsner beer to life in a unique way, is celebrating its first year since opening in the historic building on Wenceslas Square. In its inaugural year, the exhibition attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors, making it one of the five most visited tourist attractions in Prague.
The Pilsner Urquell Experience is a unique attraction in Central and Eastern Europe and the only brand home of Pilsner Urquell in the world. “The Pilsner Urquell Experience project is unique in its design. The exhibition presents the historical events that led to the creation of Pilsner beer as we know it today. With the help of state-of-the-art technology, visitors can experience this fascinating story live,” says Karen Hartley, General Manager of The Original Experience Company. In addition to the interactive tour, visitors to Pilsner Urquell: The Original Experience can literally try their hand at the art of proper beer tapping in the Škole čepování (Beer Tapping School).
One of the Five Most Visited Tourist Attractions in Prague
The unique concept of the exhibition has drawn visitors from all over the world, who can now view the interactive display in ten languages. The most frequent visitors are tourists from Germany, the United States, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, and Italy.
“Since June, we have also been offering a combined ticket for The Original Tour in conjunction with a one-hour cruise on the Vltava River with the Prague Boats company. Visitors get to know Czech history and culture with all their senses, which they can then soak up on a cruise on the Vltava,” adds Romana Jedličková, Head of Marketing at Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience in Prague.
In the traditional beer hall, guests can sample properly brewed beer, which is tapped by specially trained tappers. A special dinner with a beer sommelier (Večeře s pivním someliérem) is a unique offering. It is a tasting menu where each of the five courses is paired with beers from different parts of the world. Guests are guided through the tasting by one of our experienced tasters, allowing them to learn more about the origin of certain beers.
