    Thousands of Motorsport Fans at the Red Bull Showrun in Prague

    Prague was the centre of motorsport in the Czech Republic on Saturday, as the ‘Red Bull Showrun’ transformed the Karlín district into a racetrack. Under the scorching sun, former Formula 1 star David Coulthard captivated thousands of enthusiastic fans with the 2011 world championship car, the RB7, delivering a truly exceptional show.

    Prague witnessed a motorsport spectacle of the highest order on Saturday: the “Red Bull Showrun presented by foodora” turned Rohanský nábřeží in the Karlín district into a racetrack. The Scottish former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard was the star of the day, captivating thousands of spectators with his RB7 racing car. In tropical temperatures, around 17,000 motorsport fans watched in awe as Coulthard performed impressive drifts and burnouts with the racing car that helped Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber secure twelve Grand Prix victories in 2011.

    In addition to David Coulthard’s impressive performance, other highlights also thrilled the audience. Lithuanian motorcycle stunt rider Arūnas Gibieža kicked off the event with a breathtaking show, followed by drift professionals Elias Hountondji and Marco Zakouřil. In their over 1,000-horsepower BMW M4 G82 vehicles, they showcased drifting at its finest, leaving the tyres smoking on the asphalt.

    The event was hosted by Formula 1 commentator Števo Eisele and F2 driver Josef Král, who presented the Praga Bohema on the track. However, for many visitors, Coulthard’s appearance was the absolute highlight. The former Formula 1 driver, who won thirteen Grands Prix during his career, expressed his excitement about the event and the city of Prague: “I love being here and visit Prague often. The opportunity to showcase a Formula 1 car in the heart of the city was simply fantastic.”

    Among the notable guests were numerous Czech sports stars, such as snowboarder Eva Adamczyková and newly crowned Olympic champion from Paris, Martin Fuksa, who visibly enjoyed the show.

    With the successful “Red Bull Showrun,” Prague joins an exclusive list of cities that have already hosted this spectacular motorsport event, including metropolises such as Dallas, Santiago de Chile, and Belfast.
