On August 21, 1968, Soviet tanks entered Prague, marking the end of Czechoslovakia’s attempt to create “socialism with a human face.” This event, now 56 years ago, saw Warsaw Pact troops crushing the reformist movement in the country. Milan Linhart, a witness to the invasion, captured the moment with his camera. His photographs, still powerful today, continue to evoke difficult memories for those who lived through that turbulent time.
