Road Maintenance Work on Dukelských Hrdinů, Prague 7, Causes Traffic Changes

Starting Monday, 2 September, the second phase of extensive road maintenance work in Holešovice (P7) will begin on Dukelských Hrdinů. This work will not only affect the carriageway but also the tram line and water supply pipes. The project, which will significantly impact traffic, is scheduled for completion by 25 October 2024.

During the works, Dukelských Hrdinů Street will be completely closed from Strossmayer Square heading north. Part of U Výstaviště Street, up to the Výstaviště tram stop, and access to the tram turnaround in Stromovka Park will also be affected by the closure. To accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, alternative routes have been established in the Stromovka Park area. Access to the park will remain possible via a designated corridor.

A partial road closure will be in effect between the Výstaviště tram stop and Bubenská Street. However, access to nearby buildings, Stromovka Park, and the parking lot in front of the Great Sports Hall will remain open. Tram services in this section will be suspended. A diversion route for car traffic heading towards the city center has been set up via Vrbenského, Bondyho, and Argentinská streets.

The construction work will also lead to changes in the operation of several tram lines, as well as bus line 156. Details on the affected lines and the alternative routes can be found on the Prague Transport Authority’s website (Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy, a.s.).
