Prague is expanding its emergency dental care services with a new addition: from December 2024, Nemocnici na Františku Hospital will open a second emergency dental outpatient clinic. This new facility aims to alleviate the current clinic’s workload and enhance emergency dental care.
The hospital’s existing emergency dental clinic, which began operations in autumn 2023, treated 5,195 patients, including 579 children, in its first ten months.
On Monday, the Prague City Council approved a grant of CZK 1,089,000 to equip the new clinic. This allocation still requires final approval from the Prague City Council.
Alexandra Udzhenija, Deputy Mayor for Health, stated, “When we opened the first dental emergency department, we promised that this would not be the end of our efforts. The approved grant will be used to equip the second emergency department, which is expected to open by the end of the year.”
The new grant will fund the purchase of essential dental equipment, including a monitor, a compressor, and an intraoral X-ray machine with sensors. The establishment of this second clinic is set to significantly improve emergency dental care in Prague.
