    Luboš Tomíček Memorial Celebrates its 55th Anniversary: Traditional Race on 7 October in Prague

    The best Czech speedway riders, international stars, and promising young talents from home and abroad will compete on the track

    Next Monday, 7 October 2024, one of the most beloved speedway races in the Czech Republic, the Luboš Tomíček Memorial, will take place at the Markéta Speedway Stadium in Prague. For 55 years, this event has honored Czech speedway rider Luboš Tomíček, who tragically passed away in a race in 1968.

    Every year, the memorial delights motorsport fans of all ages and draws in many families. Top Czech drivers, international stars, and young talents from abroad will compete on the track. Among the prominent participants are leading Czech riders Dan Klíma, Adam Bednář, and Jan Kvěch. Unfortunately, Václav Milík will not be able to compete this year due to an injury, as announced by the organizers.

    As per tradition, the winner of the Golden Helmet will participate, and former Czech speedway pro Josef Franc will do a lap of honor around the circuit.

    • 13:30: Cash desks open
    • 15:30: Stadium opens to spectators
    • 16:40 – 17:00: Paddock access
    • 17:00 – 17:15: Autograph session
    • 17:55: Josef Franc’s lap of honor
    • 18:00: Opening ceremony
    • 18:10: Start of the 1st round
    • 20:05: Selection of starting positions for the final
    • 20:10: Final race
    • 20:15: Arrival of the winners
    • 20:20 – 20:30: Award ceremony
    • 20:35: Final fireworks
