Limited Edition Pink Tile from Prague Metro to Be Auctioned in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

An auction will take place from 15 to 25 October on the aukro.cz platform

Prague City Tourism, in collaboration with the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer (Aliance žen s rakovinou prsu), is organizing a special auction of a limited-edition pink tile from the Prague Metro, designed by Petr Novague. The proceeds will support women undergoing oncological treatment, with all funds going directly to projects by the Alliance.

The auction will run from 15 to 25 October on the aukro.cz platform. Interested parties can view the tile, which will be displayed on the ground floor of the Old Town Hall in the souvenir shop. “In October, Breast Cancer Prevention Month, we chose to collaborate with an organization dedicated to supporting women affected by breast cancer,” says Jana Adamcová, Deputy Chairwoman of Prague City Tourism.

Additionally, on 1 October, the Petřín Lookout Tower was illuminated in pink to raise awareness of breast cancer and show solidarity with those impacted by the disease. “We greatly appreciate Prague City Tourism’s support. Proceeds from the auction will go towards our ‘Invisible Women’ project, which specifically assists patients with metastatic breast cancer,” says Štěpánka Pokorná, Director of the Alliance.

The pink tile, a unique piece of art, will not only serve as a symbol of Prague culture for the winning bidder but will also contribute to a significant cause. “The bidder will receive an exceptional item while making a valuable contribution to supporting women in need,” adds Adamcová.

Throughout October, the Alliance will also host a series of breast cancer prevention events. Further information about the auction is available on the website prague.eu.
