From 25 to 28 October 2024, Prague City Tourism will participate in the fifth annual Week of Tourist Information Centres, a popular event organized by the Association of Tourist Information Centres of the Czech Republic. The event aims to emphasize the significant role of information centres, even in the digital age, and to introduce the public to the essential work done by the employees of these centres.
During this period, both Prague residents and visitors can join an exciting competition organized by Prague City Administration. Participants can pick up a game card at any of the city’s information centres, which will guide them on an engaging tour of at least three of Prague’s six information centres. Each visit earns a stamp, and those who correctly answer the provided questions can win a voucher for entry to one of Prague’s towers.
For those up for a challenge, visiting all six information centres will earn them a special reward: a voucher for a city tour on the historic tram line 42. This campaign is designed to showcase the continuing importance of information centres today. As Barbora Plodrová, Director of Prague Tourist Centres, explains: “With this campaign, we aim to highlight the significance of tourist information centres in the digital age and draw attention to the diverse work our staff does.”
This year, Prague’s tourist centres have already welcomed 900,000 visitors and handle an average of 1.5 million enquiries annually. With six locations, including the Old Town Hall, Prague Castle, and the Petřín Lookout Tower, these centres remain an invaluable resource for tourists and locals alike.
As part of the Week of Tourist Information Centres, participants can also win additional prizes by engaging with the Prague City Tourism Facebook page.
