GHOST has announced their biggest world tour to date, kicking off with over 55 shows across the US, Europe, the UK, and Mexico next year. The GRAMMY-winning Swedish rock icons will launch the tour on 15 April at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. For the first time, they will headline the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City on 22 July. GHOST will also be coming to Prague on 11 May 2025.
This world tour marks GHOST’s first since the RE-IMPERATOUR 2023, which concluded with two sold-out shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. These performances were captured in the band’s record-breaking debut film, RITE HERE RITE NOW, available for pre-order on DVD and for streaming or purchase via VEEPS, iTunes, and Amazon.
Their latest tour, the triumphant RE-IMPERATOUR U.S.A. 2023, took GHOST to over two dozen cities in North America, concluding with two nights at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. In March 2022, the Los Angeles Times reported that GHOST had “conquered metal and the charts” when their fifth album, IMPERA, debuted at #1 on the US album charts and reached #2 on the Billboard 200. The album also topped the charts in Sweden, Germany, and Finland, and broke into the Top 5 in several other countries.
The album features the song “Spillways,” which the New York Times described as a “masterfully composed rock song.” It was later reinterpreted with Joe Elliott from Def Leppard. Additionally, the GRAMMY-nominated “Call Me Little Sunshine” earned GHOST the fifth spot on active rock radio stations. IMPERA prompted Rolling Stone to comment, “GHOST predicted the pandemic; now the metal band is predicting the fall of empires.” The album addresses contemporary themes with a dark, melodic flair that is unmistakably GHOST.
In 2022, GHOST entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with the RIAA platinum-certified song “Mary on a Cross.” Moreover, IMPERA was voted Favourite Rock Album at the American Music Awards and Best Rock Album of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. GHOST also released PHANTOMIME, an EP featuring five cover songs, including their rendition of Iron Maiden’s “Phantom of the Opera,” which earned the band their fifth GRAMMY nomination.
Most recently, GHOST ventured onto the big screen with the premiere of their feature film RITE HERE RITE NOW in June 2024. The Los Angeles Times praised the film, stating, “One of the best live bands – and now they have the film to prove it.” It quickly became the most successful hard rock cinema event in North America, spawning a chart-topping soundtrack album.
