Legendary Singer, Writer, and Activist Patti Smith to Perform in Prague in July 2025

Experiencing the American rock musician live is an event akin to a natural phenomenon

Fifty years after the release of Horses, Patti Smith will return to Prague in the summer of 2025 with her current band, the Quartet. The concert—often referred to as “Jobs” by the musician, a nod to her working-class roots—will see the Patti Smith Quartet take the stage on 19th July 2025 at Forum Karlín.

Few artists can so masterfully illuminate large stages with sheer presence as Patti Smith. Leonard Cohen once said, “If you go on stage, you have to put yourself at risk,” and no one embodies this challenge quite like Smith. Her performances are singular experiences—raw, unfiltered, and fully present, creating a unique bond with her fans.

The Prague audience will witness the ongoing transformation of Patti Smith from a punk icon into a wise, yet still untamed and occasionally righteously angry, shamanic figure who speaks truth to power.

Beyond her music, Smith is a poet, photographer, painter, and muse. Her life and career are a unique blend of rebellion and artistic inspiration. The “Godmother of Punk” has left an indelible mark not only on New York but also on Paris, shaping a distinct postmodern artistic vision.

In 1975, Smith and her band released Horses, a ground-breaking and iconic album. When she celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2015 with a world tour, she described it simply as “three-chord rock merged with the power of the word.” Today, Horses remains one of rock music’s most influential masterpieces.

The album opens with a declaration of personal responsibility that continues to resonate as a motto throughout Smith’s work: “Jesus died for somebody’s sins but not mine…”

Tickets for the Prague concert are available starting from 1,690 CZK. Official ticket sales begin on 13th November 2024 at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster and Ticketportal.
