In 2024, KFC proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary in the Czech market. To mark this special occasion, the US fast-food chain opened its first flagship restaurant in Europe on Wenceslas Square in Prague—a symbolic milestone underscoring the brand’s success in the region.
KFC’s new restaurant on Wenceslas Square not only celebrates an anniversary but also sets new standards in restaurant design and customer service. Spanning an impressive 766 square metres, the restaurant seats 152 guests and is the largest KFC outlet in the Czech Republic. A particularly noteworthy addition is the introduction of table service: Customers can order from the comfort of their table and have their freshly prepared chicken specialties served directly to them—an innovation that significantly enhances the dining experience.
“This restaurant is more than just a branch—it is a symbol of our success and of the remarkable journey we have travelled with KFC in the Czech Republic. We are proud to continue offering our customers new experiences,” said Ivana Makalová Dlouhá, KFC Director for the Czech and Austrian markets, in an interview with the online magazine CzechCrunch.
The flagship restaurant in Prague meets stringent requirements that distinguish it from other KFC branches worldwide. It is one of only five such restaurants KFC operates globally. The elegant design combines the building’s historic architecture with modern elements, creating a unique ambience that reflects the atmosphere of Wenceslas Square. The restaurant integrates art deco elements with contemporary design, achieving a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.
The Wenceslas Square location holds special significance for KFC, as it is just a short walk from the company’s first branch in the Czech Republic, which opened in 1994. This historical proximity further underscores the importance of the new restaurant.
