The Christmas market at Castle Blatna will once again bring the spirit of the festive season to life this year with a festive atmosphere, traditional delicacies and a variety of family-friendly activities. The castle invites you to celebrate the festive season in a fairytale setting with something for everyone.
The Christmas market takes place on the weekends of 30 November and 1 December, 7 and 8 December, 14 and 15 December and concludes on 21 and 22 December. Each market day starts at 10:00 and ends at 17:00.
A highlight of the event is the lighting of the Christmas tree in the castle courtyard, which takes place on 1 December at 16.30.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities and experiences during the market. Themed Christmas tours offer a unique look inside the castle, paired with stories about the local Christmas tradition. These tours promise a blend of history and Christmas charm that will be an unforgettable experience.
Children have the opportunity to take part in creative workshops where they can decorate ornaments and gingerbread, do sand painting and take part in other activities.
No Christmas market would be complete without traditional delicacies, with mulled wine, gingerbread and other festive treats on offer. On 22 December, visitors will have the special opportunity to sample a soup prepared by Baroness Jana Germenis-Hildprandt herself, adding a personal touch to the festivities.
In addition to the Christmas atmosphere, the market also offers a wide range of handmade arts and crafts – an ideal opportunity to find unique Christmas gifts and support local artisans.
