Prague Zoo is celebrating Christmas with special highlights: baby animals, festive lights, and a sensational admission price of just CZK 100 for everyone. It’s a visit that’s well worth it!
At a press conference, Prague Zoo not only introduced new offspring but also announced a very special Christmas gift: from 23 December to 3 January, admission for all visitors — whether adults, children, students, or even dogs — will be just CZK 100!
“With this campaign, we want to thank the public for their great support and make the zoo accessible to people who might otherwise have to forgo visits,” explained Jana Komrsková, Deputy Mayor of Prague. Seniors over the age of 70 will continue to enjoy the symbolic admission price of CZK 1. The discounted tickets are available only at the zoo’s ticket offices, not online.
2024 has been an exceptional year for Prague Zoo: a total of 1,025 young animals from 187 different species were born, including baby monkeys, another baby manatee, and, for the first time, a wombat. A special highlight was the birth of a healthy baby silver gibbon, born to the female Alang Alang on 13 December.
“It’s been a wonderful year, and we are thrilled to be able to show our visitors these baby animals,” said Zoo Director Miroslav Bobek.
Prague Zoo is open daily from 9 AM to 4 PM, with one exception on Christmas Eve (24 December): On this day, the pavilions close at 2 PM, but the zoo remains open for walks until 4 PM.
At night, the Garden of Lights – Wild Africa invites you to an atmospheric tour (except on 24 and 31 December). Visitors can experience illuminated animal lanterns, interactive projections, and a spectacular 70-meter-long light tunnel. This exhibition is a highlight of the winter season, offering fascinating insights into the world of animals in a whole new light. Admission to the Garden of Lights is charged separately.
