The Prague Visitor Pass had a record-breaking year in 2024, with over 40,000 passes sold—an impressive 80% increase compared to the previous year. The pass has proven particularly popular among tourists from Germany, the USA, Italy, the UK, and Spain, offering access to more than 70 attractions.
This year, Prague City Tourism achieved a significant milestone, marking an 80% year-on-year growth in pass sales. The majority of tourists using the pass hail from Germany, the USA, Italy, the UK, and Spain. The pass not only grants access to major attractions but also encourages visitors to explore destinations beyond the city centre.
Key attractions frequently visited with the Prague Visitor Pass include Prague Castle, the Old Town Hall, and the Jewish Quarter. Beyond the city centre, tourists are discovering sites such as the Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul in Vyšehrad, Prague Zoo, the Žižkov TV Tower, and the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art.
“The Prague Visitor Pass is a well-established product that simplifies tourists’ stays in the city by consolidating all essential services and attractions into one card or app,” said Jiří Pospíšil, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Tourism. “Next year, we plan to include attractions in the Central Bohemian Region, such as St. Barbara’s Church and the Sedlec Ossuary in Kutná Hora. We are confident tourists will greatly appreciate this expanded offering.”
Recent data reveals a growing demand for multi-day passes, particularly the 72-hour and 120-hour options. This trend is encouraging visitors to extend their stays in the Czech capital.
“I am delighted that the pass inspires travellers to spend more time in Prague. It rehflects the appeal of its offerings,” said František Cipro, Chairman of Prague City Tourism. “Currently, the pass is accepted at over 70 locations. The Prague Visitor Pass has enjoyed its most successful year to date, and we are proud to have developed such a sophisticated system with numerous partners. A significant portion of the revenue from pass sales is allocated to compensating participating attractions.”
This year also saw the introduction of a return-and-recycle program for physical cards. Additionally, the proportion of users opting for the app over the physical card has risen to 44%.
In collaboration with ICT Operator, the system provider and developer, Prague City Tourism has been offering the pass for three years. The pass is available via a mobile application and can be purchased online, through the app, or in person at one of six tourist information centres. Prices vary depending on the duration of validity, which can extend up to 120 hours.
