    Traffic Restrictions on Wenceslas Square in Prague on New Year’s Eve

    Traffic measures will be clearly indicated by signs on the access roads

    On New Year’s Eve, motorists can expect traffic restrictions on Wenceslas Square in connection with the celebrations. These measures, implemented in cooperation with the police, aim to ensure the safety of health and property.

    The traffic restrictions will apply during the following periods:

    • 31 December 2024 (New Year’s Eve) from 12:00 until 1 January 2025 (New Year’s Day) until 10:00: Parking will be prohibited in all zones (blue and purple) as well as in reserved parking spaces across the entire area of Wenceslas Square.
    • 31 December 2024 (New Year’s Eve) from 16:00 until 1 January 2025 (New Year’s Day) until 08:00: All vehicles, except those from the Integrated Rescue System (IRS), will be prohibited from entering Wenceslas Square.
    • 1 January 2025 from 08:00 to 10:00: Entry will be permitted only for IRS and supply vehicles.

    From 10:00 on 1 January 2025, Wenceslas Square will be reopened to traffic.

    The traffic measures will be clearly marked by signs on the access roads. The city asks all road users to respect these restrictions and adjust their plans accordingly, particularly concerning deliveries to shops and restaurants and car parking.

    The Prague City Council would like to remind visitors to the festivities that setting off fireworks is prohibited in the city centre and near hospitals on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
