Tomáš Rosický, currently serving as the sporting director of Sparta Prague, could soon take on a new role with the Gunners. According to The Guardian, he is one of the top candidates for the post of sporting director in London.

Sparta Prague and Arsenal legend Tomáš Rosický (44) might return to the Premier League after the season. The Guardian reports that Rosický is a leading contender for the role of sporting director at Arsenal, a position he currently holds at Czech champions Sparta Prague.

Rosický spent ten years as a player at Arsenal, where he also shared the pitch with the club’s current coach, Mikel Arteta. The former Czech national team captain previously played for Sparta Prague and Borussia Dortmund before moving to London. Despite being frequently sidelined by injuries, he managed to make 246 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 28 goals and providing 23 assists.

Rosický began his managerial career at Sparta Prague in 2018. As sporting director, he recruited Danish coach Brian Priske, who guided the team to a Czech double. Under Rosický’s leadership, Sparta Prague also reached the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 19 years.

According to The Guardian, Rosický is one of three top candidates for the Arsenal role. The other contenders mentioned are Luis Campos and Phil Giles. Portuguese expert Campos, currently a consultant at PSG, has previously enjoyed great success at Monaco. Meanwhile, Englishman Giles, the current sporting director at Brentford, is renowned for his exceptional analytical skills.
