Karel Komárek’s Allwyn Entertainment Group Becomes a Partner of the McLaren F1 Team

The parent company of Czech Sazka aims to support and accelerate its global growth through this partnership

In its global ambitions, the international lottery provider Allwyn, owned by the third richest Czech, Karel Komárek, continues to focus on Formula 1. Following its recent announcement as a partner of Formula 1, the company has now also secured an official partnership with the McLaren F1 Team, the winner of the 2024 Constructors’ World Championship title.

The Allwyn Entertainment Group, also the parent company of Czech SAZKA a.s, the largest and oldest lottery company in the Czech Republic, has signed an official partnership with the Formula 1 team from Woking, England, to support and accelerate the lottery company’s plans for further global expansion.

The two companies emphasised in a press release that Allwyn and McLaren share the same business principles, which focus on innovation and excellence. The partnership will enable both brands to raise their profiles with a global audience. Together, Allwyn and McLaren will offer fans exclusive behind-the-scenes content, live experiences, and new ways to fully enjoy the sport.

Karel Komárek, Chairman and Founder of Allwyn, said: “This exciting partnership—along with the partnership with Formula 1 we announced earlier this week—is an important step in Allwyn’s journey to grow the business and increase brand awareness worldwide. Our collaboration with McLaren is based on shared principles: a desire to succeed and a passion for technology and innovation.”

Zak Brown, Managing Director of McLaren Racing, said: “We are delighted to welcome Allwyn to the McLaren Racing family. After a fantastic season in Formula 1 in 2024, it’s great to have an international brand like Allwyn alongside us at a time when our team and the sport are on the rise. We look forward to racing together.”

McLaren Racing is a British motorsport company owned by the McLaren Technology Group. It was founded in 1965 by the New Zealand racing driver Bruce McLaren. The team is one of the most successful in Formula 1, having won 12 drivers’ titles to date. Last year, Lando Norris fought until the end of the championship but was ultimately beaten by the reigning world champion Max Verstappen. The Constructors’ World Championship was secured with a 14-point lead over Ferrari.

As an official partner of McLaren Racing, the Allwyn logo will appear on a number of team elements, including the racing cars and overalls of McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
