Fascinating World of Orchids: Exhibition at the Prague Botanical Garden

This year's exhibition offers insight into the incredible survival strategies of orchids

An exhibition showcasing the fascinating world of orchids will open in the Fata Morgana greenhouse at the Botanical Garden in Troja on 7 March. It will run until 23 March.

With the arrival of spring and the brighter days it brings, the Fata Morgana greenhouse is hosting its highly anticipated orchid exhibition. This vibrant display not only highlights the splendour of colourful blooms but also provides intriguing insights into these remarkable plants.

This year, the exhibition explores the incredible survival strategies of orchids. Masters of deception, orchids have evolved ingenious traps and tricks to attract their pollinators. Visitors will be captivated by how these plants manipulate pollinators’ behaviour to ensure their reproductive success.

For those wishing to take home a piece of this beauty, a tropical plant sale will be held in the ornamental garden’s exhibition hall. A variety of orchids will be available, from extravagant hybrids to rare botanical species.

Orchid enthusiasts may also enjoy the lecture series in March, this time focusing on the ‘Queens of Intrigue’.

    Greenhouse opening hours:
    Tuesday–Sunday: 9:00–19:00
    (Last entry: 18:30)

    Monday: Closed

    Admission to the exhibition:
