Red Bull Kolo Molo Comes to Prague for the First Time

Crazy machines, creative costumes, adrenaline on the water, and a generous dose of summer energy. On Saturday, 21st June, Prague will host the Red Bull Kolo Molo for the first time, or as it is known in the Netherlands: Red Bull Stalen Ros. The event will turn the Vltava River into a bicycle arena where everything is on the line – speed, style, and a steady hand on the handlebars, as any mistake means a dunk in the water. Prepare for a show that the Czech capital has never experienced before!

Red Bull is renowned for its extravagant events. Just last year, the Red Bull Show Run delighted thousands of motorsport fans in Prague, and the year before, it was a spectacular soapbox race that attracted numerous spectators.

Red Bull Kolo Molo is based on the successful Dutch concept, which took place for the first time in The Hague in 2023 under the name Red Bull Stalen Ros (Steel Horse). Two-person teams design and build their own tandem bicycles, similar to soapbox races, and attempt to navigate the narrow, trap-filled course stretched over the Vltava River. The goal is clear – reach the end of the course, ring the bell, and, if possible, avoid landing in the water.

But beware! The best team is not just the fastest. The jury will also assess the original design of the bike and the showmanship! So participants must not only prove their skills on the saddle but also incorporate creative costumes, choreography, or any other element that transforms their ride into an unforgettable spectacle. The sky’s the limit for creativity!

The preparations for the event also involved well-known names from the Czech bike scene – Tomáš Slavík and Michal Maroši. As experienced riders, they would advise participants: “Above all, keep your balance and don’t kid yourself. The collaboration between the riders will be important because a tandem bike is a different level than you think,” says Tomáš Slavík. “And I also recommend taking a deep breath – but not underwater,” adds Michal Maroši with a smile.
