The Czech Republic ranks 20th in the latest World Happiness Report, a slight decline from 18th in 2024. The country’s steady position highlights its ongoing efforts to maintain high levels of wellbeing and quality of life.
This year’s report focuses on the impact of caring and sharing on people’s happiness. The authors examined both aspects: the benefits for those who receive caring behaviour and the advantages for those who provide it.
Finland remains the world’s happiest country for the eighth consecutive year, followed by Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, and the Netherlands. At the bottom of the rankings are Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, and Lebanon. The Czech Republic dropped two places from 18th in 2023 to 20th out of 147 countries. The US ranks 24th, just behind England in 23rd place.
