Prague Top MICE Destination in 2025: New Conference Centres and Corporate Event Spaces

From Historic Halls to High-Tech Venues: Prague’s New Congress Locations and Hotel Openings

Prague’s conference landscape has expanded over the past year with the opening of several new event venues, catering to everything from small private gatherings to large-scale congresses and conferences. At least five more projects are set to be completed by the end of this year and into the next.

Since the beginning of 2024, multiple new venues have opened in Prague, further enhancing the already diverse range of event spaces. “One of the most significant developments is undoubtedly the renovation at the Výstaviště Praha exhibition grounds. Although the full restoration of the Industrial Palace will take more than a year, numerous updates have already been made,” says Roman Muška, Director of the Prague Convention Bureau, which represents the congress industry in Prague. He adds: “In summer 2024, the green roofs of the newly renovated Křižík Pavilions were opened, followed by the reopening of the Nová Spirála Theatre in autumn. These two venues together offer a capacity of up to 4,500 people.”

Two further venues near the exhibition grounds are also undergoing renovation. The Prague Planetarium is set to reopen in summer 2025, featuring new LED dome technology that will make it one of the world’s most advanced planetariums. The venue will also be available for private events, accommodating up to 700 guests, including its outdoor terrace. “Additionally, within a year of selecting a construction company, the long-delayed opening of the Šlechtova Restaurant in Stromovka Park (Royal Game Reserve) is planned,” says Roman Muška.

The Prague Exhibition Grounds also oversee the Holešovice Market (Holešovická tržnice), which is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation. By the end of 2025, visitors and event organisers can expect several upgrades, including the refurbishment of the area’s most opulent building, the former Livestock Exchange. This space is being transformed into a 300-seat restaurant named ‘Burza’ by the Zátiší Group. The gastronomy company Ambiente will also be present, opening either a new restaurant or an extension of the renowned Myšák patisserie.

A particularly remarkable event venue has been unveiled at Prague’s Main Railway Station following an extensive restoration. In early 2024, two refurbished Art Nouveau halls in the Fantova building were opened, having once served as restaurants and waiting rooms. These spaces can now host congresses and conferences for up to 600 participants.

    Interactive Event Experiences

In addition to traditional event venues, Prague also offers interactive event spaces. Alongside the soon-to-be-reopened Prague Planetarium, organisers can book the Mozart Interactive Museum in Malá Strana. This exhibition uses cutting-edge technology to provide an immersive insight into the life and works of W. A. Mozart and is available for private events. Another interactive venue in the pipeline is Hydropolis, planned for 2027 in the former Vinohrady Waterworks. The site will feature an exhibition in the water tower, alongside a water park, an observation platform, and a 160-seat congress centre.

Prague’s Hotel Scene Expands by 1,000 New Rooms

Prague’s congress market is also benefiting from the addition of new hotels, which will not only provide around 1,000 new rooms but also offer additional meeting facilities. “Two major hotel projects were completed in 2024. After an extensive renovation, the former Grand Hotel Evropa on Wenceslas Square reopened as W Prague, offering 161 rooms and three event spaces for up to 50 people. Another addition is The Cloud One Hotel near Masaryk Railway Station, which has been welcoming guests since summer 2024, featuring 382 rooms and two event spaces, including a rooftop terrace for 160 people,” says Roman Muška.

Three further hotel openings are planned for 2025. In spring, the Fairmont Golden Prague (formerly Hotel InterContinental) will welcome guests with 320 rooms, six restaurants and bars, a spa, and conference facilities for up to 600 attendees. At the end of March 2025, Hotel Sir Prague, located near the Dancing House (Tančící dům), will open with 76 rooms. “The final and highly anticipated project is the Akroterion Hotel, which, following its renovation, will offer around 100 luxurious rooms, a restaurant, a spa, and new conference facilities,” Roman Muška concludes.
