Letná Park’s Northern Section Set for Renovation, Completion Planned by July

The existing paths in the northern section of Letná Park have suffered significant damage and are no longer in an acceptable condition

Prague has selected a contractor through a tender process for the comprehensive renovation of the park’s paths in the northern section of Letná Park. Work will commence once the contract is signed, with the renovation scheduled for completion by July.

“The newly renovated paths will align with the overall concept of the park’s facilities. Some sections will be paved, others will be surfaced with mechanically stabilised gravel, and some will remain asphalted. This approach aims to meet the needs of as many users as possible. The project will also include the renewal of park furniture, including new bays for benches, horticultural improvements such as tree planting, and, in some areas, new public lighting,” says Jana Komrsková, Deputy Mayor for Environment and Climate Planning, outlining the scope of the project.

The existing paths in the northern part of the park are in poor condition, with very old and severely damaged asphalt, preventing proper drainage of rainwater into the neighbouring lawns.

“This is just one of several measures currently underway. The construction of two water features near the former Stalin memorial is nearing completion. Additionally, the environmental department has recently launched a tender process to replace the playground equipment at the nearby ‘U Hrocha’ playground,” concludes Jana Komrsková.
