United Islands 2025: Festival season begins on Štvanice Island

Experience emerging music stars from across Europe in Prague

By PragueDaily

From 1 to 3 May, the Štvanice island, Karlín and Holešovice will come alive with new musical discoveries. Performances will form part of the well-established Prague music festival United Islands, which will also take over more than a dozen clubs throughout the city. Hundreds of up-and-coming music stars from the local scene and from across Europe will take to the stage over the three days of the festival.

United Islands is taking place in Prague for the twenty-second time this year. Across three days, hundreds of artists from all over Europe will perform on twenty different stages. The first day of the festival is dedicated to Club Night, where mostly local talent, selected through an open competition, will perform in eleven Prague clubs. Of the 350 bands that applied, the festival organisers selected three to join the United Islands line-up. The highlight of Friday’s programme on Štvanice Island will be a concert against xenophobia and intolerance. Pam Rabbit, Jordan Haj, Emma Smetana and others will perform in a concert block aptly titled Symphony for Humanity.

From 1 to 3 May, artists will perform on a total of 21 stages — either on open-air stages on Štvanice Island, in Burza #4 in Holešovice, at Karlín Harbour 18600 (Přístav 18600), or in a number of clubs across Prague. New venues include Dva Kohouti, clubs in the city centre, Smíchov, Dejvice, Bubeneč, Krymská Street and the Vinohradský Pivovar (Vinohrady Brewery). This year’s afterparty on Saturday will take place for the first time at the Cross Club in Holešovice.

Once again, the festival will be free of charge for all visitors. In addition, the organisers will trial a voluntary admission model for the first time.

More information can be found on the festival’s social media — Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, and YouTube.
