The Vánoční flotila of Prague Public Transport Company starts the Christmas season on 29 November
DPP turns December into a festive experience for young and old
The Prague Public Transport Company rings in the Christmas season: at the end of November, the festively illuminated Vánoční flotila sets off. Historic trams and metro trains, St Nicholas events, and winter programmes bring seasonal cheer to the Czech capital.
This year, the Advent season in the Czech capital begins on 29 November with the festive Christmas flotilla of the Prague Public Transport Company, once again creating a Christmassy atmosphere in the city.
In addition to the illuminated trams and historic metro trains for St Nicholas, visitors can enjoy a pre-Christmas programme at the Střešovice Museum – DPP turns December into a festive experience for young and old.
St Nicholas rides a historic Ečs metro train
Just one week later, on 6 December, DPP continues its pre-Christmas programme. On Metro Line A, between Dejvická and Želivského, a historic Ečs train will run from 12.30 to 4.30 pm – accompanied on board by St Nicholas, the Devil, and angels.
At Hradčanská station, visitors can change directly to a tram to the Transport Museum in Střešovice. There, from 1.00 to 5.00 pm, a St Nicholas afternoon takes place, attracting not only children with games, competitions, and a festive atmosphere.
Střešovice Museum extends opening hours
The Střešovice Transport Museum will remain open every weekend until Sunday, 21 December 2025 – from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. This provides plenty of opportunity to experience the historic vehicles and the festive supporting programme.
