Prague Towers Attract Nearly 400,000 Visitors This Summer

The Prague Towers (Pražské věže) recorded nearly 400,000 visitors from home and abroad in July and August, marking a 5% increase compared to the previous year. The Petřín Tower, the Mirror Labyrinth on Petřín Hill, and the Old Town Hall were particularly popular. Prague City Tourism, the company managing the Prague Towers, reported a 17% rise in visitor numbers for these three attractions compared to last year.

“The holidays are slowly coming to an end, and I am very pleased that the Prague Towers welcomed an incredible 400,000 visitors during this period, including both domestic and international travelers. In July, the Old Town Hall saw its millionth visitor for the year. It’s clear that the stunning views and rich history are major draws,” says Jiří Pospíšil, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Tourism.

The Petřín Tower remains one of the most visited landmarks in Prague, attracting over 130,000 visitors this holiday season. It is consistently among the top five most visited sites in the Czech capital.

The Mirror Labyrinth on Petřín Hill, with 86,342 visitors, and the Old Town Hall, with 84,525 visitors, are the second and third most visited towers in Prague. Additionally, the sightseeing route featuring the Astronomical Tower in the Clementinum, which welcomed over 32,000 visitors in July and August, also saw an increase compared to the previous year.

Visitor numbers for the stone towers, such as the bridge towers and the Powder Tower, remained consistent with previous holiday periods. The Powder Tower was scaffolded this summer as work began on revitalizing its exterior, which could lay the groundwork for future renovations.

In 2023, 1.8 million people visited the towers managed by Prague City Tourism, and the company paid CZK 94 million in rent to the city.

The success of the summer season at the Prague Towers is also attributed to meticulous preparation. Before the peak holiday period, the company conducts regular training sessions for staff to ensure they deliver top-notch service during the busiest months. This year, the company successfully filled all temporary positions to ensure smooth operations at all Prague attractions.
