The capital city of Prague and the Central Bohemia region have signed an agreement to test the “Prague Visitor Pass” project. In the initial phase, the pass will be valid for visiting attractions in Kutná Hora. If the pilot project is successful, the pass may soon be introduced in other regions as well.
The “Prague Visitor Pass” is intended to serve as a ticket for a variety of key tourist attractions, including museums, galleries, and zoos, as well as for public transport beyond Prague. The Prague City Council approved the pilot project on Monday.
Jiří Pospíšil, the Deputy Mayor of Prague for Culture, Tourism, and Heritage, stated: “It is fantastic that we are starting the test run of the Prague Visitor Pass in Central Bohemia. This not only confirms the efficiency of this system but also strengthens the collaboration between Prague and the region. I am confident that a successful implementation will bring long-term benefits for all involved and visitors.”
The pass is available as a multipurpose smart card in both physical and digital formats, offering three age categories (Adults, Students, Children) and three time options (48, 72, and 120 hours). The aim of the project is to promote tourism not only in central Prague but also throughout Central Bohemia.
In addition to using the pass for entry to tourist attractions, holders can benefit from discounts at selected retailers and use public transport in both Prague and Central Bohemia. The system includes a web portal with an online shop and a mobile app.
The agreement for the collaboration on the pilot project still needs to be approved by the Prague City Assembly.
