Czech Republic Faces Rain and Colder Nights After a Mild Start to the Week

Temperatures in the Czech Republic are expected to rise to up to 20°C by Friday before cooling noticeably over the weekend. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) has warned of a significant weather change, potentially accompanied by ground frost.

The start of the week will remain mild, with daytime highs reaching just over 20°C. Temperatures may even climb to 23°C early in the week, while nighttime lows will generally stay above 10°C—except for Wednesday.

Monday will be sunny, but from Tuesday, dense clouds will bring rain and showers to most parts of the country. Wednesday will be changeable, but rain is forecast to return on Thursday and Friday, accompanied by strong winds with gusts of up to 55 km/h.

A cold front is expected to arrive over the weekend. “Cold air will flow in from the northwest starting Friday,” meteorologists forecast. By Saturday, daytime highs will range between 11°C and 16°C. The nights will become particularly chilly, with temperatures dropping as low as 1°C by Sunday, and ground frost is likely in many regions.
