Prague Zoo is bringing a unique light exhibition to the Czech Republic from the end of October 2024 with the Garden of Lights. Visitors can look forward to 110 shining lanterns of 33 animal species as well as impressive projections and photo spots. The exhibition is a highlight of the winter season and offers fascinating insights into the world of animals – in a whole new light.
On 25 October 2024, Prague Zoo will open an exciting new project called Garden of Lights – Wild Africa, which will transform the lower part of the grounds into a radiant sea of lights. Visitors can expect an impressive exhibition of lanterns representing 33 different animal species, with a total of 110 illuminated specimens on display. This will be accompanied by light projections, plant installations and special photo points.
Garden of Lights is an exhibition in which light creates unforgettable spaces full of colours and shapes. Immerse yourself in wild Africa through light installations and get to know the continent’s most charismatic animal species in a new multimedia experience.
The exhibition is open daily from 25 October to 16 February 2025 from 18:00 to 21:00. From 1 November to 16 February, you can visit the Garden of Lights on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 17:00 and 21:00, and from 17:00 to 20:00 on the remaining days of the week. The exhibition is closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Admission to the Garden of Lights is separate and tickets are available in advance.
Projects such as the Light Zoo are widespread internationally, but this is a first in the Czech Republic. The exhibition not only brings life to the zoo in the off-season, but also puts the spotlight on special animal species such as gorillas and manatees. The lanterns specially designed for Prague Zoo for these species are a highlight of the exhibition.
