The global technology conference for students, Future Port Youth, is set to return to Prague this year, bringing together Czech and international experts to inspire and guide young people on how technology can be harnessed for positive change.
The fourth edition of the conference will be held on November 14 at the Nova Spirala cultural venue, welcoming up to 800 attendees, four times more than in previous years. Additionally, thousands of students from Europe, Africa, and Asia will join virtually, participating in discussions alongside their teachers during school hours. Last year, over 5,000 students from 30 countries registered for the event.
“Future Port Youth isn’t just a platform for discussing the future; it’s where we shape it together with students. They meet passionate innovators, tech leaders, and inspiring personalities, which energizes them to embrace cutting-edge technologies and launch their own impactful projects. Students actively participate in discussions, bringing forward topics they care about, and take these insights back to their classrooms and personal lives,” says Martin Holecko, CEO and founder of Future Port.
This year’s lineup includes Stephen Ibaraki, a prominent global leader in technology and philanthropy, known for his work on the UN’s AI for Good initiative. Sophie Hamilton from Spotify will explore how AI impacts music creation, while ESA Ambassador Jan Spratek will discuss the emerging space generation. Alvin Wang Graylin, HTC’s Global Vice President, will provide insights into the future of AI-powered augmented reality. The event will feature ten thematic blocks focused on the latest trends and exponential technologies.
“The conference will also cover the future of education and the fight against disinformation. We want to show students from all fields, including humanities and arts, how technology can play a crucial role in their future careers,” adds Holecko.
Schools can register for the event for free, and participants will receive follow-up educational materials. “Future Port Youth offers our students the chance to expand their knowledge of current global issues while improving their language skills. It’s unique because students meet peers who have achieved remarkable success through innovation, which motivates them to keep learning. Our students especially appreciated that the lectures were in English and highly interactive,” says Michaela Chourova, a teacher from J.A. Komensky Elementary School in Louny, reflecting on last year’s event.
Once again, the Future Port Awards will showcase innovative student projects, with a focus on contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This year, 18 student teams from Europe, Africa, the USA, and Asia have entered the competition, with the best projects selected by a jury of festival organizers and speakers.
Thanks to the larger capacity at Nova Spirala, more schools will have the opportunity to attend in person and engage with world-class speakers. Schools can register through the conference website.
