Vibrant masks, Mexican food and drinks, and fun for the whole family await at this year’s Día de los Muertos celebration at the Holešovice Market (Holešovická tržnice)! This lively and colourful festival, celebrating Mexican culture and tradition, is back for its third year, offering a packed day of entertainment, culinary delights, and creative activities.
Step into the outdoor gastro zone at Tržní Square and embark on a culinary adventure filled with vibrant flavours and aromas. Sink your teeth into juicy tacos, crunchy churros, and even authentic paella. Fancy something spicier? Indulge in burritos, quesadillas, and Mexican-style hotdogs bursting with bold flavours.
And don’t miss the chance to try the traditional pan de muerto, a sweet bread served with hot chocolate, perfect for warming up as the autumn chill sets in. Wash it all down with refreshing drinks like Jarritos, classic Mexican Corona beer, or a selection of premium wines and beers.
From 2 PM to 8 PM, Hala 13 will transform into a bustling marketplace and creative workshop hub. Browse stalls filled with Mexican products and foods, or get involved in the hands-on activities suitable for both kids and adults. Create your own vibrant masks, get your face painted in iconic Mexican styles, or design unique flower crowns and headpieces. A day of crafting inspired by Mexican traditions promises fun and creativity for all ages.
No Mexican festival would be complete without music! The talented Mariachi Azteca do Praga will perform both in the pop-up food area and inside Hala 13, bringing the unmistakable sounds of Mexico to Prague. Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere as traditional mariachi tunes fill the air. Later, DJ Gadjo will take over, keeping the energy high and the party going into the evening.
Don’t miss out on this exciting celebration of Mexican culture in the heart of Prague. There’s something for everyone at this year’s Día de los Muertos festival – from mouth-watering food and drinks to creative workshops and live music. Hasta pronto!
