Celebrate one of the most important Mexican holidays this weekend, which has been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO

The popular Mexican festival Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) returns to the Náprstek Museum of the National Museum of Asian, African, and American Cultures. On Saturday, 2 November, and Sunday, 3 November, this significant holiday will be celebrated in the museum’s courtyard.

Organised in collaboration with the Mexican collective Día de Muertos and other partners, the festival brings a unique atmosphere to Prague, where visitors can immerse themselves in rich Mexican culture and traditions. Día de Muertos is one of Mexico’s most important holidays and is celebrated with exuberant festivities in honour of deceased ancestors and their souls. This year’s event offers a diverse programme that pays tribute to the deep roots of the Mexican community while strengthening cultural ties between Mexico and the Czech Republic.
