    Fancy ice skating outdoors in Prague? Winter is just around the corner, and with it, the city’s popular ice rinks are opening again. We have compiled an up-to-date list of the best ice rinks in Prague for the 2024/25 winter season. Grab your skates and hit the ice! If you don’t have your own equipment, no problem: you can hire skates at most of Prague’s ice rinks.

    Ice Rink on the Terrace of the Nový Smíchov Shopping Centre: The ice rink on the terrace of the shopping centre covers an area of 20 x 10 metres and is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm. In addition to traditional ice skating, the rink can also be hired for corporate events. Skate hire and refreshments are available.

    Střížkov Ice Rink (Kluziště Střížkov): This unique ice rink in the Park of Friendship (Park Přátelství) near the Střížkov metro station offers a circular surface with a diameter of 25 metres—it’s hard to find anything comparable in the Czech Republic. Next to the ice rink is the Fontána bistro, which serves mulled wine, bagels, and hot dogs. The bistro also has a heated tent and private skate hire.

    River Rink – Karlín: The River Rink has a great atmosphere again this season! More than just an ice rink awaits you here. Spend a whole winter day here. At the ice rink in Karlín, you will find a well-equipped hire station for skates and other equipment. A bistro offers food, mixed drinks, and hot drinks to warm you up.

    Ice Arena Černý Most: Once again this year, the Černý Most shopping centre is welcoming ice skaters. Parents with children can join skating classes for the little ones. The ice rink in the Ice Arena is suitable for all age groups. There’s a skate rental on site, plenty of refreshments, and, above all, a relaxed atmosphere.

    Ice Rink Metropole Zličín – from 14.11.2024: Combine the pleasant with the useful: Treat yourself to a refreshing break on the ice with your family after a day of shopping. The ice rink is located in the car park in front of the main entrance to the Metropole Zličín shopping centre. In addition to perfectly prepared ice, you can also hire high-quality skates and equipment for beginners.

    Letná Ice Rink (Kluziště Letná) – from 16.11.2024: The ice rink on Prague’s Letná, opposite the Sparta Prague stadium, will open on 16 November. The Letná Ice Rink is open daily from 9 am to 9 pm. Admission costs CZK 100, with free admission for children. Skate hire and refreshments are available on site.

    Letná Arkády Pankrác Ice Rink – from 22.11.2024: There is an outdoor ice rink in front of the Arkády Pankrác shopping centre. You can skate here every day and on weekends from 9 am to 9 pm, whatever the weather. Admission to the ice rink costs CZK 100, with free entry for children under 6. Skates can be hired for CZK 80.

    Ice Rink on Prague’s Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí) – from 23 November 2024: One of the special features this winter is an ice rink directly on Prague’s Wenceslas Square. The large ice rink is illuminated in the evening, creating a special atmosphere. There is a skate hire service on site, refreshments on offer, and a heated tent to warm up in.

    Starting Friday, 29 November, the ice-skating rink at the Žižkovská televizní věž – Tower Park Prague will open. The opening hours are as follows, Weekdays: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Weekends and public holidays: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
