Parking fees in Prague will be significantly reduced during the Christmas period. From 23 December 2024 to 3 January 2025, drivers in the mixed (purple) and visitor (orange) zones will pay only the regular hourly rate for all-day parking. This change was announced by the Technical Road Administration (TSK).
During the Christmas period, the maximum parking price for up to 24 hours in the mixed (purple) and visitor (orange) zones will be significantly cheaper, as the hourly rate will be the daily rate. Drivers will pay between CZK 20 and CZK 80 per day, depending on the location.
However, the price reduction does not apply to the blue residents’ zones. Additionally, the regulation only applies to sections where parking is not in continuous operation throughout the year, such as areas where free parking is available at weekends.
The parking charges vary depending on the location:
Tariff Zone / Maximum Price per Day (CZK)
- Cenové pásmo 1 – 80 CZK
- Cenové pásmo 2 – 40 CZK
- Cenové pásmo 3 – 20 CZK
Drivers can find further information in the price list for parking permits. A map of the price zones is also available online.
Free Parking for Electric Cars Ends on 31 December
The exemption that previously allowed electric cars to park free of charge in paid parking zones in Prague will be abolished on 31 December 2024. The so-called transferable parking permits will also become invalid on this date. Both measures are part of the planned reform of the parking system in Prague. Conventional parking permits for residents and businesses will remain unchanged for the time being.
