New Italian Bakery & Bistro in Town: Chleberia in Karlín

Combining the charm of a bakery with the comfort of a café, making it an excellent spot for lunch, a coffee break, or fresh bread shopping

Chleberia, a new Italian Bakery & Bistro, has recently opened in Prague’s Karlín district, offering authentic Italian breads, pastries, and hearty dishes. Led by master chef Patrizio Alunni Tullini, this cozy spot blends Italian tradition with a warm café atmosphere, perfect for a quick coffee or a leisurely lunch.

Who doesn’t love Italian food? Prague has a new gem for Italian cuisine lovers: Chleberia, an Italian Bakery & Bistro, which opened its doors in Karlín just a month ago.

While the bakery itself has been in operation for two years near Florenc, it was previously dedicated solely to wholesale. Now, with the new location in Karlín, Patrizio Alunni Tullini—the owner and master chef—has created a welcoming space where customers can enjoy fresh Italian bread and authentic dishes daily.

The bistro serves freshly prepared specials like lasagna, pizza, and Italian sandwiches. Naturally, as in any true Italian bistro, you’ll also find excellent coffee options, including espresso, latte macchiato, and cappuccino, perfect to pair with a buttery croissant or homemade cake.

The bread at Chleberia is distinctly Italian, and one with a special twist: an Italian-inspired version of the classic Czech Šumava bread. All ingredients, including the flour, are imported from Italy to ensure an authentic taste.

In addition to bread, you’ll find focaccia, ciabatta, and baguettes, as well as a selection of sweet treats to complete the offering. Everything at Chleberia—bread, food, and pastries—is crafted by bakers, chefs, and pastry chefs, all hailing from Italy.

Beyond the bistro, Chleberia’s products are available for purchase on Rohlik.cz, where fresh bread is delivered daily. Among its clients are renowned Restaurants and several prestigious hotels across Prague.

The bistro itself is warm and inviting, combining the charm of a bakery with the comfort of a café, making it an excellent spot for lunch, a coffee break, or fresh bread shopping. And since this is the Czech Republic, you can enjoy your Italian dishes with a nice draft beer from Pivovar Malastrana, a local craft brewery based in Prague’s Malá Strana. Interestingly, the brewery’s owner is also Italian, adding a unique touch to this Czech-Italian fusion.

The bakery operates almost year-round, closing only on December 26th and January 1st. The shop is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 19:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 14:00.
