Discover the fascinating history of one of Prague’s most magnificent Baroque palaces in the unique ‘Papírový Palác’ (Paper Palace) exhibition. Experience the history of the Clam-Gallas Palace through the impressive paper model by Antonín Langweil and be inspired by the story of this historical monument.
The Prague Museum cordially invites you to the unique ‘Papírový Palác’ exhibition, which is taking place in the magnificent Baroque Clam-Gallas Palace from yesterday until 30th March 2025. The exhibition offers visitors an extraordinary insight into the history and transformation of this important Prague monument, using a fascinating paper model created by Antonín Langweil as early as 1827.
At the centre of the exhibition is Langweil’s detailed model of the palace, which perfectly reproduces not only the architectural form but also the atmosphere of the period in which it was built. The exhibition is complemented by contemporary drawings and unique graphic sheets depicting the historical development of the palace from the 18th to the 20th century.
In addition to the historical exhibits, visitors can also enjoy short stories, photographs, and graphic visualisations that link the palace’s past with the present. This enables visitors to visualise how the palace has evolved over the centuries and how its appearance and use have changed.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to gain an insight into the rich history of one of Prague’s most beautiful Baroque palaces, which, thanks to its careful reconstruction, is rightly considered one of the most important European cultural monuments.
