Škoda Auto Begins Production of the New Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé

Škoda Auto has begun production of the new Enyaq family of electric vehicles at its Mladá Boleslav plant

The successful Škoda Enyaq, which ranked third among the best-selling electric cars in Europe last year, has now entered production. Škoda Auto has started manufacturing the new Enyaq model family at its headquarters in Mladá Boleslav. Following the completely new compact model Elroq, the Enyaq family is the second production model from the Czech car manufacturer to feature the “Modern Solid” design language.

Andreas Dick, Board Member for Production and Logistics at Škoda Auto, explains: “The start of production for the new Enyaq family is a very special moment for our teams. As the first Škoda model on the MEB platform, the predecessor marked an extraordinary milestone in production. With it, we laid the groundwork for processes that benefit us today. We have extensively adapted our production facilities so that we can now build both electric models and the Octavia on a single production line. Manufacturing the new Enyaq family at our main plant in Mladá Boleslav underscores our commitment to the Czech Republic.”

    Flexible Production in Mladá Boleslav

The new Enyaq, based on the Modular Electrification Platform (MEB), rolls off the state-of-the-art production line in Hall M13 at the Škoda Auto Mladá Boleslav plant—alongside the Octavia and the all-new all-electric compact SUV, the Elroq. As the first production facility of the Volkswagen Group in Europe, this assembly line allows for the flexible switching between models with combustion engines and those with electric drive, enabling Škoda to respond quickly to fluctuations in customer demand.

In addition to producing the new Elroq and the new Enyaq, Škoda Auto also manufactures battery systems for these MEB-based models at the Mladá Boleslav plant. The traction batteries assembled here are also used in electric models from other brands within the Volkswagen Group.
