On Sunday, August 11, Prague Zoo invites all animal lovers and families to celebrate World Elephant Day in the Valley of Elephants. This special day features a variety of activities and experiences centered around these majestic animals, renowned for their strength and wisdom.
Visitors can look forward to a colorful program that captures the essence of Asian culture. Highlights include guided encounters with the elephants, exciting swimming demonstrations, and interactive information stations for children. A particularly impressive highlight will be the elephant swim with the experienced keepers in the outdoor pool, where the oldest female elephants, Gulab and Shanti, will be showcased in action.
For the youngest guests, interactive play stations in Elephant Valley will teach them about elephants and their cultural significance in a fun and engaging way. Young visitors can also participate in a creative art workshop where they can design their own elephant-themed artwork.
A tour of the breeding facilities provides special insights into the world of elephants. These tours, lasting around 30-40 minutes, are free with a valid admission ticket and offer a glimpse behind the scenes of the zoo. However, those interested must book in advance by email, as groups are limited to 20 people. Please note that prams and dogs are not permitted during the tour.
Additionally, visitors can create paper from elephant dung and design it creatively. This unique workshop emphasizes the connection between elephants and art, a symbol found in many cultures around the world.
