Anyone wishing to learn more about environmental protection through play now has a unique opportunity: in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region, a hands-on game invites visitors to explore environmental education centres – complete with puzzles, nature excursions, and small rewards. It’s an offer for all generations.
Residents of Prague and the Central Bohemian Region (Středočeský kraj) can engage with ecology and environmental protection in a fun and accessible way. The second edition of this cognitive walking game through ecological education centres in Central Bohemia and Prague (Návštěvnická hra – putování po střediscích ekologické výchovy) is now underway. The aim – to collect and assemble puzzle pieces – is to help raise awareness of these selected centres.
The individual puzzle pieces are made of beech plywood and fitted with magnets. The winner is the person who visits all participating centres, collects a puzzle piece at each location, and completes the entire map.
The following organisations are participating in Prague:
- Lesy hlavního města Prahy (Prague Forestry Administration) with Ecocentrum Prales and Zookoutek Malá Chuchle
- Dům ochránců přírody (House of Nature Conservation) in Prague
- Přírodovědná stanice DDM hlavního města Prahy (Natural Science Station of the Prague Children’s and Youth Centre)
- Toulcův dvůr (Centre for Environmental Education)
- U studánky poznání (Centre for the Popularisation of Nature Conservation)
“I am delighted that the games are returning after last year’s successful premiere and are once again drawing attention to places that are well worth visiting in their own right. Many of these are easily accessible by public transport – and I hope this year’s games bring joy to many,” says Jana Komrsková, Deputy Mayor for the Environment and Climate Plan of the City of Prague.

In the Central Bohemian Region:
- Ekocentrum Huslík
- Záchranná stanice fauna ČR Hrachov (Centre for the Protection of Fauna)
- Ekocentrum Kladno – Čabárna
- Ekocentrum Orlov
- Podblanické ekocentrum Vlašim
- Vodní dům Hulice (Hulice Water House)
“All participants have the chance not only to discover the beauty and natural richness of Central Bohemia and Prague, but also to actively contribute to the preservation of our landscape. It’s vital that we recognise how valuable our natural heritage truly is,” says Jindřiška Romba, Councillor for the Environment and Agriculture of the Central Bohemian Region.
The visitor game leads players to fascinating places in both regions, teaching them about nature conservation along the way. Each visit is a mini-excursion into nature. The game is suitable for all age groups – but please note that the number of puzzle pieces is limited. So if you’d like to take part, don’t delay – head out on an educational adventure soon!
Prizes for completed puzzles:
Anyone who completes the schematic map (the puzzle) will receive a prize. Simply send a photo of the completed puzzle via the event’s Facebook page or by email to evvo@praha.eu. Prizes can also be collected in person at Jungmannova 35/29, Prague 1.
